A behavioural study of Black-backed Jackals (Lupulella mesomelas) highlighting the evolutionary mechanics of social bonding. The composition captures the subjects in complementary states of environmental processing: one maintains strict outward vigilance, establishing a secure perimeter that allows its kin to shift into a vulnerable state of parasympathetic rest. The interlocking physical forms visually represent the strict social cohesion and mutual reliance required to mitigate stress and survive within a high-stakes ecosystem. Presented on matte Hahnemühle Photo Rag mounted to aluminium Dibond with a 6 mm natural oak floater frame.
